Business Development Manager – Commercial Tyres & Fleet Solutions
Location: Manchester, Leeds or Newcastle
Job Type: Full-Time | Field-Based
Salary: £50,000–£55,000 Basic + Bonus + Company Car + Pension & Benefits
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a well-established business operating within the commercial tyre and fleet management sector. This is a field-focused sales role for someone who enjoys developing new business, building long-term customer relationships, and working closely with commercial and fleet customers to understand their requirements. You will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, developing existing markets, and helping customers find practical tyre and fleet management solutions that improve efficiency, performance, and cost control.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across your territory.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with fleet and commercial customers.
- Generate leads through proactive prospecting, networking, and market activity.
- Arrange and conduct customer meetings and site visits.
- Understand customer requirements and present suitable commercial solutions.
- Prepare proposals and negotiate with key decision-makers.
- Manage your sales pipeline and maintain accurate CRM records.
- Monitor market activity and identify opportunities for business growth.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure a smooth customer experience.
- Provide regular sales updates, forecasts, and market feedback.

What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management.
- Experience within commercial vehicles, automotive, fleet management, tyres, or a related industry is highly desirable.
- Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
- A confident communicator who can engage with decision-makers at different levels.
- Experience managing a sales pipeline and working with CRM systems.
- Commercially minded with a proactive approach to winning new business.
- Well organized and comfortable working independently across a field-based territory.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to customer sites.
