Role Description

The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities while nurturing existing client relationships within the United Kingdom market. In this full-time hybrid role, the individual will spend part of their time working on-site in the UK and part working from home, engaging with clients, prospects, and internal teams.

  • Conducting client meetings and presentations
  • Preparing proposals and quotations
  • Negotiating commercial terms aligned with company objectives

The role involves close collaboration with operations, logistics, and customer service teams to ensure solutions are feasible, scalable, and delivered to client expectations. The Business Development Manager will also monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to refine commercial strategies and support sustainable growth.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within transport, logistics, or supply chain environments.
  • Strong skills in lead generation, pipeline management, and closing deals, with the ability to work toward clear revenue and margin targets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities, with confidence in engaging stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Solid analytical and commercial acumen, including the ability to interpret data, assess market opportunities, and build compelling value propositions.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with operations and customer service teams to design and deliver client solutions.
  • Comfort with hybrid working arrangements, including regular travel within the UK to meet clients and attend internal meetings as needed.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English; additional European language skills are an advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Familiarity with transport networks involving France and the Benelux, and understanding of European freight forwarding and warehousing services is highly beneficial.
