Senior Business Development Manager - Financial Services & Consulting
£80,000 – £100,000 basic | £150,000 OTE Year 1 | £200,000+ OTE Year 2 | Equity Opportunity
If you’re already successful in consultancy or professional services sales, what would make your next move genuinely worth considering?
A strong delivery team behind you. Existing and dormant accounts with trading history to build from. Proven case studies. Average engagements of around £150 – 200,000. The autonomy to develop opportunities your way. Significant earning potential and the opportunity to earn equity in the business?
There is a lot here for the right person to build on.
The Role
You’ll have the freedom to build on the trading history of existing and dormant accounts, while developing completely new client relationships of your own.
The business has established enterprise relationships, successful client engagements, strong case studies and a network that reaches deep into its core markets. You’ll be supported by experienced consultants and subject matter experts who can add genuine credibility as opportunities develop.
Your role is to get close to the market and find where the next opportunity exists. That could be regulatory change, a major transformation programme, operational challenges, increased scrutiny, changing customer expectations or a strategic priority where the client needs external expertise.
You’ll open the conversation, understand the wider business problem, identify the commercial opportunity and bring the right people around the table to shape the engagement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

Average deal value is around £150 – 200,000, with several programmes exceeding £1m last year. Sales cycles are typically around 2 to 3 months, which is relatively quick for consultancy engagements of this scale.
The Person
You’ll already have a track record of winning complex services engagements with large enterprise organisations.
We’re particularly interested in people coming from:
- Consulting and Professional Services
- Transformation and Change
- Strategic or Operational Advisory
- Managed Services
- Risk, Regulatory and Compliance
- Technology and Data Services
You’ll be comfortable developing relationships with senior and C-suite stakeholders and navigating complex buying groups.
We want to understand how you actually create demand.
How did you identify the opportunity? What was happening within the client? How did you gain access? What did you uncover during discovery? How did you shape the solution? Who did you bring into the conversation? How did the eventual engagement develop?
Experience of £100k+ deal values is important, but the ability to demonstrate how you created that revenue will carry considerably more weight.
Why Consider It?
You’ll have autonomy without starting from scratch.
There is an established market position, existing and dormant accounts, strong delivery capability and a successful trading history to build from. The culture is grown-up and straightforward. People are trusted to perform, supported when they need it and given the freedom to get on with their job.
