Location: Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds or London
Salary: Competitive
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

We’re recruiting for a Transactions Business Development Manager to join a forward-thinking Business Development and Marketing team within a leading UK leading law firm.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded BD professional to support the growth of a highly regarded Transactions division, working across corporate markets, client acquisition, revenue generation and strategic marketing initiatives. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders to identify new opportunities, strengthen client relationships and help deliver business plans that drive long-term growth.

The role combines strategic business development with hands-on marketing activity, including market research, client development, campaigns, thought leadership, events and bid support. You’ll also collaborate with teams across the wider business to maximise cross-selling opportunities, build referral networks and raise the profile of the division.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Growth

  • Work with divisional and sector leadership to identify growth opportunities across the corporate market.
  • Support strategic business planning through market research, competitor analysis and commercial insight.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the division’s clients, identifying opportunities for revenue generation, cross-selling and new business.
  • Monitor market developments and emerging trends to identify opportunities and keep the firm’s services front of mind.
  • Build relationships with referral networks, industry bodies and key contacts to generate new opportunities.

Marketing, Campaigns & Content

  • Develop and deliver integrated marketing campaigns to raise the profile of the Transactions division.
  • Create thought leadership content and identify opportunities for seminars, roundtables and industry events.
  • Coordinate marketing activity and sponsorship opportunities to strengthen market presence.
  • Support directory submissions, award entries and other initiatives that showcase the division’s expertise.
  • Work with PR and Communications colleagues to develop press releases and external communications.
  • Share internal updates and success stories to encourage collaboration across teams and divisions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
