Role Description
This full-time Business Development Manager role is a hybrid position based in Northampton, with flexibility to work from home part of the week. The role involves identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, nurturing leads, and building strong relationships with small and medium business clients. The Business Development Manager will conduct needs assessments, prepare tailored proposals and quotations, and present Guru Technology’s telecoms and IT solutions to decision-makers. Daily responsibilities include maintaining a robust sales pipeline, managing negotiations, closing deals, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and service delivery. The role also includes tracking performance against targets, contributing to sales forecasts, providing market feedback, and representing the company at client meetings, events, and networking activities.

Job Details
Job Title: BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Salary: £30,000 per annum
OTE: Uncapped – 12-20% commission against sold GP
Reports to: Head of New Business
Hours: Full time
About the Role
Poised for significant growth in 2026-2027, we are looking for a dynamic “BDM” to embrace our obsession with customer acquisition and help deliver the next chapter in the Guru Technology story. You will take responsibility for bringing on new business with our hosted and broadband portfolio of products.
Responsibilities
- Being responsible for managing your pipeline and using a CRM accurately
- Being responsible for generating appointments through referrals
- Booking own leads from warm data on our CRM
- Delivering on performance in line with your KPI's
- Identify, cross sell and up sell other products in our portfolio
- Presenting your business on a weekly basis to management

Experience
Minimum 2 years sales experience of selling hosted phone systems in telecoms. (For example systems like 8x8, Gamma, Callswitch etc…) The role is solely for someone who considers themselves a "hunter", so does not suit an account manager.
Qualifications
Full driving licence - No more than 6 points
