Business Development Manager - UK

At Open Medical, our mission is to deliver smarter, faster care. We are the digital health experts behind Pathpoint, the award-winning platform synchronising clinical workflows and transforming patient outcomes globally.

We are seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager to lead growth across our existing client base. Unlike traditional outbound sales roles that focus on cold lead generation from scratch, this role is dedicated to maximizing value within established NHS relationships. You will focus on driving the end-to-end contract renewal process, identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities across trusts, and expanding Pathpoint's footprint into new clinical departments, acting as the bridge between Open Medical’s clients and product team.

Our Environment

Our team is full-time in-office, as we believe this is how we collaborate, problem-solve, and develop ourselves best. Based at our HQ in Ealing Broadway, West London, we are a small, fast-moving team of around 35 and growing! This means you will have real ownership, visible impact, and a central role in client satisfaction, protecting our recurring revenue while unlocking new opportunities for expansion, across the United Kingdom.

The successful candidate for this role will be expected to be on UK client sites on average 2 - 3 times per week, and in our HQ the rest of the time, feeding back client insights and keeping up to date with our latest product developments.

Role & Responsibilities

Account Expansion & Upselling / Cross-Selling

  • Identify and qualify organic expansion opportunities within active UK accounts and clinical networks.
  • Consult with clinical and operational teams to develop tailored value propositions and business cases for expanding Pathpoint usage.
  • Organise and deliver high-impact presentations, including service data performance, and product demonstrations, to a variety of client stakeholders.
  • Cross-sell additional Pathpoint modules, clinical pathways, and regional network features into established accounts.

Contract Renewal & Retention Management

  • Own the full commercial lifecycle for assigned enterprise accounts, protecting Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) and preventing churn, across a variety of procurement frameworks.
  • Map out multi-year accounts, maintain precise tracking of contract end dates, and initiate proactive engagement strategies.
  • Lead end-to-end commercial contract renewal negotiations and prepare commercial proposals for NHS trusts and private clients.
  • Lead the management and retention of a portfolio of existing clients, ensuring service commitments and client expectations are consistently met.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
