Business Development Manager
Manchester
Salary: £40,000–£60,000 + Uncapped Commission + Company Car or Car Allowance
This is a new opportunity to join a growing business as a Business Development Manager. The business is genuinely flexible on where you're based, and you're free to build your pipeline from anywhere in the UK, ideally somewhere close to home.
You'll be selling construction labour solutions into kitchen manufacturers, main contractors, subcontractors, developers, and housebuilders across the country. Your responsibilities will include meeting customers, visiting sites, cold calling, networking, and building relationships with decision-makers. If you're confident starting a conversation, resilient, commercially sharp, and driven to win new business, this is built for you.
Being part of a wider group, you'll also open doors into services like security, CCTV, fencing, Wi-Fi, solar panels, and turnkey site solutions, giving you real scope to grow your earnings beyond a single offering.
You'll manage your own diary, build your own pipeline, and shape your own territory, with full autonomy and the freedom to get out there and deliver.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
