Business Development Manager, Specialist IT Hardware into London Financial Institutions

Based in West London.

£50,000 to £60,000 basic salary (DOE) + uncapped commission (£100k+ realistic OTE; top performers significantly exceed this).

We are looking for a disciplined, relentless new-business hunter who thrives on high-value, consultative selling rather than quick-hit transactional orders. Orders are typically £250k+, with some deals worth more than £2m, so these are complex, high-ticket sales that require a genuinely consultative approach. The products sold are extremely high-end and are used by investment banks, traders, and insurers to undertake complex research or operate complex trading algorithms.

The Role

  • Proactively opening doors, mapping target organizations, and winning high-value new accounts.
  • Selling high-end infrastructure solutions primarily into FinTech, quantitative finance, hedge funds, and data-heavy enterprises.
  • Navigating complex, multi-million-pound hardware procurement cycles in partnership with premier world-class manufacturers.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What is Required

We are not looking for someone from a VAR or MSP background. Instead, the role requires someone with a loyal, consistent track record of hunting, pitching, and closing net-new commercial business.

  • IT reseller or channel experience is not required.
  • We are looking for a strong work ethic, commercial acumen, objection-handling, and an elite consultative sales approach.
  • The role involves selling at senior level, so it requires gravitas, stamina, and the ability to engage confidently with technical directors, CTOs, and procurement heads on complex, high-ticket capital expenditure.
  • The role requires relentless drive and commercial ambition, paired with loyalty, humility, and high professional standards.
  • Somebody who has previously sold high-ticket solutions into financial institutions, such as SaaS, would be perfect.
