Business Development Manager

Enterprise B2B SaaS

Hybrid role located in Bath (2–3 days in office)

About Us

We build the SaaS platform that FCA-regulated consumer lenders, debt collection agencies, debt purchasers, and BNPL providers run their operations on — spanning the full credit lifecycle from CRM and payment orchestration through to communications, IVR, AI decisioning, and customer portals. Our clients are regulated, enterprise-grade organisations, and the relationships we build with them are long-term and high-value.

The Role

This is a hands-on role, working closely with the CEO and marketing team. You'll be responsible for finding the right firms, opening genuine relationships, and nurturing them until they're ready to buy.

Instead of cold-calling, you'll build deep, structured knowledge of our target accounts and the wider financial services market — the intelligence layer that sits in front of the sales and marketing team, so everyone shows up to a conversation already knowing everything worth knowing about the account.

We're growing, with an ambitious strategy and a clear path to getting there. This is a rare chance to be our first dedicated commercial hire and help shape how we go to market. If you're energised by depth over volume, by understanding a customer's operational and regulatory world properly, and by the craft of a long enterprise sale, this is for you.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What you'll own

  • Pipeline generation—identifying and researching target firms across the financial services industry.
  • Relationship-led outreach—thoughtful, credible, multi-channel outreach (LinkedIn, email, events, referrals) that earns a conversation rather than burning the list.
  • Early-stage discovery and qualification—understanding a prospect's operational pain, regulatory pressures, and buying process; qualifying hard so we invest time where it counts.
  • Long-cycle nurture—staying close to prospects, adding value, and moving relationships forward until they're ready for a commercial conversation.
  • Sales briefs and co-selling—preparing account briefs, bringing our CEO in at the right moment, and supporting deals through signature.
  • Industry knowledge-building—we'll ground you in finserv/CRM industry knowledge; your job is to go deep, keep it current, and package it into usable briefs for our CEO and marketing team.
  • Membership management—own our third-party memberships (industry bodies, associations), ensure we're getting full value—event access, directories, and intro opportunities.
  • Industry events—attend events as a company representative, researching attendees ahead of time and building relationships.
  • HubSpot & reporting—keep HubSpot data clean, build and maintain the sales dashboard, and pipeline health reporting.

What you won't own

  • Final commercial negotiation, pricing, and contract terms—these sit with the CEO
  • Cold calling
  • Post-sale delivery and account management

You are not being asked to hit a monthly closed-revenue number; you will be measured on the quality and progression of the pipeline you build.

Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years' experience in a business development role for B2B SaaS
  • Working knowledge of the FCA-regulated consumer credit world, or experience selling into complex, regulated industries
  • Ability to build your own pipeline, not just work inbound leads
  • Experience using CRM and sales engagement tools such as HubSpot, Apollo, or LinkedIn Sales Navigator
  • A self-starter who takes ownership of their workload

Compensation & Benefits

We offer a competitive package with room to grow as the role and the business develop:

  • Base salary of £40,000
  • On-target earnings of up to £60,000
  • 28 days holiday + 2 additional days per year of service
  • Private healthcare
  • Private dental

As Financial Cloud grows, so does the opportunity for the people who helped build it. For the right person, this role is the foundation for a strong commercial career in financial services technology.
