About LAB
We’re a company that cares about the humans behind the tech.
At LAB, we believe in the power of digital to reshape the world for good. That belief drives the work we do every day, and we're proud to support our team as they create innovative solutions that make a real impact for our clients.
As part of the Human First Collective, alongside Reflect Digital (digital marketing) and Aspiration Digital (our non-profit digital skills conference for students), we’ve built a culture that encourages people to love what they do and do what they love. We’re deeply committed to the growth and development of our people, and we take pride in creating an environment where everyone can thrive.
Our shared mission is grounded in a deep understanding of human behaviour, which we apply to the design and delivery of digital solutions that challenge the norm and help reshape the digital world. With a broad portfolio of work, from major household brands to disruptive startups, and internal initiatives aimed at making the world a better place, every day brings new challenges, opportunities, and inspiration.
Our Core Values
Our values are the driving force behind our business success, empowering our team to make informed decisions with integrity:
- People First. Always: We truly believe our agency is only as strong as our team. We lead with empathy, transparency, and high trust, respecting boundaries and treating everyone with dignity. To us, data isn't just numbers on a screen; it represents real people and families.
- Growth Fuelled by Curiosity: We don’t just accept a brief; we interrogate it. Curiosity drives our growth mindset, pushing us to challenge assumptions, prioritise critical thinking over rigid processes, and learn fast.
- We Win Together: Success is a shared victory. We operate as a true extension of our clients’ teams, balancing individual freedom with open collaboration to produce award-winning work with real-world impact.
We’re looking for a high-performing Business Development Manager—someone with the commercial instinct, gravitas, and creative spark to own our growth story and run with it.
What You'll Be Doing
This isn’t a hand-holding exercise; it’s a high-autonomy launchpad. You will own our entire new business engine: hunting down incredible opportunities, crafting narratives that captivate, and turning strategic conversations into lasting commercial partnerships.
Owning the Deal & Driving Growth
- Take full ownership of the sales journey from initial spark to closed deal, backed by total independence and trust.
- Build and execute your own proactive outbound strategy, targeting high-value brands that match our values and ambition.
- Take centre stage in pitch rooms: build powerful commercial narratives, rally internal specialists, and deliver proposals with authority and flair.
- Use sharp commercial instinct to qualify inbound leads, focusing your energy where we can add real, transformational value.
- Shape pricing strategies that demonstrate high value to clients while protecting our team's hard work and agency margins.
- Keep our CRM clean, reliable, and acting as the strategic source of truth for the entire business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
