Technical Sales Manager – Construction Compliance Business Development and Account Management

Location: Bracknell / Client Sites

Salary: Competitive salary depending on relevant experience + uncapped commission

Full time / Permanent

We are recruiting for an experienced Technical Sales Manager to join a highly respected organisation within the construction and building services sector. This is a senior, client-facing position focused on large and complex construction projects, working with clients to understand, scope, and secure the compliance testing and technical services required throughout their projects.

You could be supporting a client on a major commercial development where multiple areas, systems, or buildings require testing to demonstrate compliance. You will need to understand the project, interpret its requirements, establish the scope and volume of testing required, and work with internal technical teams to develop the right commercial solution.

This is not a team management position. It is a senior individual-contributor role for someone who can confidently manage major clients and complex, high-value projects.

The Role

  • Work with clients delivering large commercial construction and building projects.
  • Attend construction sites and client meetings to understand the size, scope, programme, and technical requirements of each project.
  • Identify and scope the compliance testing and associated technical services required across the project.
  • Understand project plans, specifications, and technical documentation to help establish the type and volume of testing required.
  • Develop commercial proposals for large, complex testing packages, rather than selling individual or transactional services.
  • Support clients throughout the project lifecycle, adapting testing requirements as projects progress.
  • Manage relationships with senior stakeholders including main contractors, developers, consultants, engineers, and building services professionals.
  • Work closely with internal engineers and technical specialists to ensure proposed testing programmes meet project and compliance requirements.
  • Manage longer, more complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and significant project values.
  • Develop new opportunities through an established network within the construction sector.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
