Role Description

The Business Development Manager role is a part-time, remote position focused on expanding Summits Connect’s network of partners, sponsors, and attendees across regions and industries. In this role, the manager identifies and pursues new business opportunities, conducts outreach to prospective clients, and nurtures long-term relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Researching target markets
  • Preparing tailored proposals
  • Managing the sales pipeline
  • Collaborating with internal teams to align event offerings with client needs
  • Participating in virtual meetings and presentations
  • Negotiating agreements
  • Tracking performance metrics
  • Providing feedback to enhance event formats and revenue growth

Qualifications

  • Strong business development and sales skills, including lead generation, prospecting, and relationship management.
  • Experience in partnership development, sponsorship sales, or B2B account management, ideally within events, conferences, or professional services.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with strong presentation and interpersonal skills in virtual and live settings.
  • Competence in market research, pipeline tracking, and using CRM or sales tools to manage and report on opportunities.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment, prioritize multiple opportunities, and meet revenue and activity targets.
  • Comfort collaborating with marketing and operations teams to refine event offerings and support promotional campaigns.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Prior experience in international, cross-industry, or high-level networking environments is highly beneficial.
