Business Development Manager - Sponsorship Sales

Our client is a globally leading B2B events company, established for over 50 years. They deliver more than 1,000 events worldwide each year and offer excellent opportunities for career progression, with over 70% of managers having progressed through internal promotion. This is supported by one of the most highly regarded sales training programmes in the industry.

They are looking for a BDM to sell sponsorship packages to a range of businesses, particularly companies within sectors such as Technology and AI. The role involves pitching and closing new business with senior decision-makers, including Marketing Directors, Sales Directors and EMEA VPs.

This is a hybrid position, with the requirement to be in their Central London office two days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Identify & prospect new sponsorship opportunities with a range of B2B companies
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospect to close
  • While maintaining a strong focus on winning new business, you will also build and maintain relationships with existing event sponsors, identifying opportunities to maximise their engagement and utilise the full breadth of services available
  • Provide sponsors with regular campaign updates and data-driven insights, demonstrating clear ROI and maximising opportunities for repeat investment.
  • Maintain accurate CRM system
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends & competitor activity
  • Travel to events both in the UK and Internationally

The Successful Candidate

  • 2+ years B2B sales experience – new business experience is essential
  • A connection to the following industries would be a plus: Events, Sponsorship, Media, SaaS, Tech Sales
  • Motivated to progress, Ambitious, Coachable and Inquisitive
  • Commutable to London twice per week

Business Development Manager Package

  • Basic salary: up to £55,000
  • OTE: £85,000 Year 1, £100,000+ Year 2
  • Opportunity to travel internationally to events
