Wafi Engineering is an engineering and technology firm delivering advanced industrial solutions across multiple specialized verticals. Its aerospace division manages everything from conceptual generative design and carbon composite UAV manufacturing to CFD simulations and HIL testing aligned with FAA/MIL standards. The digital arm develops full-stack SaaS architectures, custom ERP systems, web applications, and automated AI data pipelines using modern frameworks and cloud technologies. Wafi Infrastructure focuses on solar-integrated infrastructure designs, while the manufacturing division produces CNC-machined BLDC motor fans and surgical equipment. Together, these verticals offer applicants opportunities to work with cutting-edge engineering, software, and manufacturing solutions.
Role Description
The Business Development Manager will lead efforts to identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities across Wafi Engineering’s aerospace, digital, infrastructure, and manufacturing verticals. This contract role will be based in Greater London in a hybrid arrangement, combining on-site meetings with clients and internal teams with some work-from-home flexibility. - Prospecting and building a pipeline of potential clients
- Conducting market and competitor analysis
- Preparing proposals, bids, and presentations tailored to technical and commercial requirements

The role will collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to translate customer needs into feasible solutions, negotiate commercial terms, and support the closing of new deals and partnerships. The Business Development Manager will also track performance metrics, maintain CRM records, and provide regular reports and forecasts to leadership.
Qualifications
- Strong business development, sales, and account management skills, including prospecting, qualifying leads, and managing a sales pipeline.
- Experience with B2B technology or engineering services, such as aerospace, industrial manufacturing, infrastructure, or SaaS solutions.
- Ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Skills in proposal writing, bid preparation, and delivering persuasive presentations to clients and partners.
- Competence in market research, competitive analysis, and developing go-to-market strategies for new services or products.
- Proficiency with CRM tools, sales reporting, and using data to drive business development decisions.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative approach to working across multidisciplinary teams.
- Previous experience in a similar business development or commercial role, ideally within engineering, technology, or industrial sectors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment in Greater London, with the ability to travel locally for meetings as required.
