Business Development Manager
Location: North London, with UK-wide travel
Contract: Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week)
The Opportunity
An established and growing UK technology solutions provider is looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager to support its next phase of growth.
The business specialises in digital signage and venue technology, delivering solutions including digital menu boards, display screens, audio systems, EPOS and associated support services. Its clients operate across hospitality, contract catering, quick-service restaurants (QSR) and major sporting venues, where reliable technology is essential to day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development
- Identify, develop and secure new business across contract catering, stadiums, QSR, hospitality and food and beverage sectors.
- Take ownership of annual new-business revenue and gross-margin targets.
- Manage the full sales cycle, from initial prospecting and discovery through solution development, negotiation and contract award.
- Lead complex tenders, framework agreements and RFP submissions, developing commercially competitive proposals.
- Build relationships with prospective clients and convert opportunities into long-term, profitable partnerships.
Strategic Account Management
- Develop relationships with senior decision-makers across operations, IT, procurement and marketing.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts through additional installations, technology upgrades and ongoing support services.
- Create account development plans covering client requirements, future projects, technology investment and contract renewals.
- Build a strong understanding of client estates and identify opportunities for wider multi-site deployments.

Market Development & Partnerships
- Help develop sales strategies for priority markets and identify new sectors with growth potential.
- Build relationships with technology manufacturers, software providers, EPOS specialists and integration partners to generate new opportunities.
- Monitor competitor activity, market trends and pricing to inform commercial decisions.
- Work closely with the Sales & Marketing Director and senior leadership team to shape the business's growth strategy.
Commercial & Operational Management
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and provide regular forecasts through the company's CRM system.
- Work alongside technical design and project delivery teams to develop solutions that meet client requirements while protecting profitability.
- Ensure successful projects are handed over to delivery teams with clearly defined scope, timelines and commercial expectations.
- Support and mentor junior sales colleagues and sales administration staff where required.
- Represent the business at industry events, exhibitions and client presentations.
About You
You are a proactive B2B sales professional with a strong track record of winning new business and developing commercially valuable client relationships. You are comfortable managing complex sales processes, engaging senior stakeholders and turning technical requirements into solutions that deliver measurable value.

You will ideally have:
- At least five years' experience in B2B business development or consultative technology sales.
- A proven track record of winning high-value, six-figure contracts, particularly across multi-site or enterprise customers.
- Experience managing complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Strong commercial awareness, including pricing, margin management, negotiation and contract development.
- Experience preparing and leading tenders, RFPs and framework submissions.
- Confidence presenting proposals and negotiating with senior-level stakeholders.
- Strong pipeline management, forecasting and CRM discipline.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.
Desirable experience:
- Background in digital signage, professional AV, EPOS or related technology solutions.
- An established network within contract catering, QSR, hospitality, food and beverage or stadium environments.
- Knowledge of digital signage software, display technology, audio systems or EPOS integrations.
- Experience selling recurring-revenue services, maintenance agreements or managed support solutions.
- Experience coaching or mentoring junior sales professionals.
- Relevant industry qualifications, such as AVIXA CTS or manufacturer-specific certifications.
