Business Development Manager – Defence / MOD
Hybrid | Cambridgeshire
We’re working with an established engineering and technology consultancy specialising in RF, communications, radar, sensing, electronic warfare, embedded systems and low-SWaP technologies. They design and deliver advanced technology solutions for defence, aerospace, space and other high-tech markets, working with MOD, defence primes, government organisations and specialist technology companies.
We’re looking for 3x Business Development Managers / Leads, each focused on developing new business across one or more of the following areas: Maritime, Land / Joint Forces, or Space & Satellite.
The Role
- Identify, develop and close new business opportunities across the MOD and wider defence ecosystem.
- Build relationships with MOD, military, primes, SMEs and technology partners.
- Sell complex engineering, R&D, consultancy and technology solutions across RF, radar, sensing, communications, EW and related technologies.
- Develop opportunities from early engagement and market shaping through capture, proposal, negotiation and contract award.
- Work closely with engineering teams to translate customer requirements into compelling technical and commercial propositions.
- Develop account strategies, manage pipeline and drive long-term account growth.
- Represent the business at defence events, industry forums and customer meetings.

Requirements
- Proven Business Development / Sales experience within Defence, MOD, Aerospace or a related technology environment.
- Track record of winning new business and developing complex, consultative sales opportunities.
- Experience selling engineering, R&D, consultancy, systems or technology-led solutions.
- Strong understanding of the UK defence ecosystem and MOD procurement.
- Experience across Maritime, Land / Joint Forces and/or Space & Satellite highly desirable.
- Comfortable selling technically complex solutions and engaging engineering, commercial and senior customer stakeholders.
- Existing defence/MOD, prime or SME network highly advantageous.
- Strong commercial, presentation, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
