Responsibilities

As our Business Development Manager, you’ll support HID’s success by:

  • Develop and execute business development plans that expand HID FARGO Secure Issuance market share and deliver agreed revenue, pipeline, and activity targets across assigned European territories and priority verticals.
  • Identify, engage, and build relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within government, healthcare, education, corporate, security integration, entertainment, retail, and other strategic markets.
  • Generate new opportunities through targeted outbound activity, campaigns, events, referrals, partner engagement, and direct prospecting.
  • Build, qualify, and maintain a robust sales pipeline, ensuring timely follow-up, clear next actions, realistic close dates, and appropriate handover to Regional Sales Managers or channel partners.
  • Work directly with Regional Sales Managers across Europe to develop territory priorities, progress strategic opportunities, reactivate dormant accounts, and support achievement of regional growth plans.
  • Identify tenders, projects, replacement cycles, competitive conversions, and specification opportunities at an early stage; coordinate internal and partner resources to improve win probability.
  • Establish and strengthen relationships with distributors, resellers, system integrators, installers, OEMs, and technology partners, creating opportunities that support the channel rather than conflict with it.
  • Support joint business planning, account mapping, demand-generation activity, and partner enablement to increase coverage, capability, and sales productivity.
  • Develop strong knowledge of the HID FARGO Secure Issuance portfolio, customer applications, competitive alternatives, and relevant industry trends to position differentiated, value-led solutions.
  • Conduct customer and partner presentations, discovery sessions, webinars, product demonstrations, and pre-sales discussions in collaboration with product and technical specialists.
  • Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities across printers, consumables, software, services, support, integrations, and credential-lifecycle solutions.
  • Maintain accurate and current account, contact, lead, activity, opportunity, and forecast information in Salesforce; support disciplined qualification, pipeline governance, and reporting.
  • Provide regular reports on activity, pipeline progression, lead conversion, market intelligence, competitor activity, risks, and forecast outlook to the Sales Director and Regional Sales Managers.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product Management, Technical Support, Customer Service, Operations, Finance, and Logistics to resolve barriers, improve the customer experience, and progress opportunities through to order and revenue recognition.
  • Represent HID professionally at customer meetings, partner reviews, trade shows, industry events, and association meetings across Europe.
  • Monitor agreed commercial and activity KPIs, take ownership of corrective actions, and continuously improve prospecting, qualification, conversion, and partner-development effectiveness.
  • Operate in accordance with HID policies, ethical standards, data-protection requirements, pricing governance, and channel rules, escalating commercial, legal, technical, or delivery risks promptly.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
