Business Development Manager – RF / Radar / Sensing

Cambridge | Hybrid

The Company

We’re working with a highly technical engineering and technology consultancy specialising in the design and development of advanced RF, communications, sensing and radar systems.

With deep expertise across antenna design, high-frequency electronics, digital signal processing and embedded systems, the business develops innovative, low-size, weight, power and cost solutions for complex technology challenges.

Its work spans multiple markets including industrial, automotive, healthcare, utilities, security, communications and space, with a strong heritage in defence and an exciting opportunity to expand further into commercial markets outside of defence.

They are now looking for an experienced Business Development Lead to take ownership of developing new markets, building customer relationships and generating significant new commercial opportunities.

The Role

This is a specialist new-business and consultative sales role, combining commercial strategy with enough technical understanding to identify where advanced RF and sensing technologies can solve customer challenges.

You will:

  • Develop and manage a high-value sales pipeline across RF, communications, sensing and radar
  • Identify and win new business opportunities within commercial markets
  • Develop relationships with senior technical, commercial and engineering stakeholders
  • Identify customer challenges and translate complex technology into compelling commercial value propositions
  • Work closely with internal engineering teams to shape solutions around customer requirements
  • Support the development of technical proposals, bids and commercial programmes
  • Lead customer meetings, presentations, negotiations and the sales process through to close
  • Research market trends, competitor activity and emerging technologies to identify new opportunities
  • Build long-term relationships and develop a strong network across relevant industries
  • Represent the business at industry events, conferences and trade shows
  • Own forecasting, pipeline management and reporting against revenue targets

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
