Grade and salary: £35,000–£40,000 per year plus performance-based commission
Hours: Full-time
Contract type: Fixed-term for 2 years, with potential for permanent extension
Reporting to: CEO and Managing Director of OxValue.AI

About OxValue.AI:
OxValue.AI is a spin-out company from the University of Oxford, dedicated to transforming technology valuation through AI, big data, and econometric methods. Our mission is to make valuation more accurate, objective, and accessible, empowering innovation, investment, and technology transfer worldwide.
We are now expanding rapidly into global markets and seeking a Business Development Manager to lead our commercial growth and partnership strategies across the UK, EU, and North America.
The Role:
The Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in scaling OxValue.AI’s business operations and driving revenue growth. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on commercial execution, focusing on high-value partnerships, key client relationships, and market expansion.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute comprehensive business development and go-to-market strategies to drive international growth.
- Identify and prioritise strategic markets, partnerships, and commercial opportunities.
- Contribute to OxValue.AI’s long-term business strategy and product-market fit discussions.
- Client & Partnership Development: Build and manage relationships with key corporate, institutional, and government clients.
- Negotiate and close high-value contracts and partnership agreements.
- Lead collaboration with technology transfer offices (TTOs), investors, and innovation platforms.
- Revenue & Performance Management: Set and achieve ambitious sales and partnership targets.
- Establish KPI systems and pipelines for tracking progress and performance.
- Drive cross-team alignment to deliver revenue growth and client satisfaction.
- Collaboration & Representation: Work closely with product, marketing, and R&D teams to align commercial strategy with product development.
- Represent OxValue.AI at conferences, exhibitions, and professional networking events globally.
- Lead presentations, pitches, and workshops to promote OxValue.AI’s solutions and valuation products.
- Team Development: Mentor junior BD staff and contribute to building a high-performing commercial team.
- Foster a culture of excellence, proactivity, and accountability.

Essential skills and experience:
- Minimum 3 years of business development or strategic partnership experience, ideally in technology, AI, financial services, or innovation sectors.
- Proven track record of leading sales pipelines and closing high-value B2B or institutional deals.
- Strong strategic and analytical mindset, capable of developing actionable business plans and achieving measurable results.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at executive level.
- Experience in international business development and cross-cultural communication.
- Proficiency in CRM tools, data analytics platforms, and social media for business growth.
- MSc/MBA or equivalent experience in business, economics, or engineering with business exposure.
- Strong interest in intellectual property, valuation, and technology transfer.

Desirable skills and experience:
- Prior experience in the AI, IP management, investment bank, or technology valuation sectors.
- Familiarity with university spinouts, investment firms, or innovation ecosystems.
- Experience in leading BD teams or managing commercial partnerships at a senior level.
- Strong networks in bank, UTT, accountancy firm, law firm, and other organizations need valuation services.
