Business Development Manager – Managed IT and Security Services

Reporting to: Managed Services Director

Full time | Permanent

Location: Scotland | Able to travel across Inverness, Aberdeen, and Aberdeenshire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities
  • Build relationships with prospective customers
  • Manage the sales process from initial engagement through to contract award
  • Work alongside technical consultants during discovery and solution design
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline forecasting
  • Develop opportunities within the existing customer base
  • Attend networking events and any other opportunities to represent Accord professionally
  • Work closely with marketing on campaigns and customer events

Candidate Profile

Essential:

  • Proven ability to identify, develop and close new business opportunities
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to negotiate and secure profitable outcomes
  • Excellent communication, presentation and proposal skills
  • Self-motivated, resilient and driven to achieve and exceed sales targets
  • Experience managing a sales pipeline and CRM
  • Ability to build trust and maintain momentum throughout a consultative sales cycle, from initial engagement through to contract signature
  • B2B consultative sales experience

Desirable:

  • MSP or IT Services experience
  • Information Security awareness
  • Existing local business network
  • Experience selling recurring managed service or subscription-based solutions

The emphasis should be on attitude, commercial acumen and a proven ability to convert opportunities into long-term customer relationships. Technical knowledge can be developed with support from the wider team, but the ability to build confidence, negotiate effectively and close business is fundamental to the role.
