Business Development Manager – ISV & PoS Partnerships
Monek | Lichfield, Staffordshire – 2 days per week in our Lichfield office, the rest on site with partners and merchants | Full-time, Permanent
About Monek
Monek is an FCA-regulated payment service provider trusted by UK businesses since 1998. Some of our very first customers are still with us today, and that long-term trust shapes how we build partnerships. We're growing fast, and we want a partnership-focused salesperson to help take us to the next level.
The Role
We're looking for a Business Development Manager to find, win and grow partnerships with Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and Point of Sale (PoS) providers across the UK, as well as direct relationships with larger merchants. You'll spend 2 days a week in our Lichfield office with the UK team and the rest of your time out in the field, meeting partners and merchants face to face and building business on their premises.
What You'll Do
- Find and win new ISV, PoS and software platform partners across the UK
- Win and grow larger merchant accounts through face-to-face meetings on site
- Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting, discovery, commercial negotiation and close
- Build strong, long-term relationships with senior leaders, product teams and sales teams at partners and merchants
- Work with our technical and product teams to get partner integrations live quickly
- Grow merchant volume through your partners with joint go-to-market plans, enablement and regular business reviews
- Keep an accurate pipeline and forecast, and share market and competitor insight with the wider team
- Represent Monek at industry events, trade shows and partner meetings

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
