Role Description
This full-time, on-site Business Development Manager role is based in Birkenhead and Manchester, with occasional travel from time to time. The Business Development Manager will identify and pursue new commercial opportunities, build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, and manage a pipeline of prospects from initial contact through to contract negotiation and close.

Daily responsibilities include:

- Researching target markets
- Preparing proposals and presentations
- Coordinating with technical and project teams to develop tailored solar solutions
- Representing the company at client meetings and industry events
The role also involves:
- Monitoring market trends
- Contributing to sales forecasts and strategic planning
- Ensuring that customer feedback is incorporated into continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications
- Experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally within renewable energy, engineering, or related sectors.
- Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of converting leads into long-term clients.
- Ability to analyse market data, identify growth opportunities, and develop strategic plans to expand the customer base.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with strong skills in written proposals and client-facing discussions.
- Solid organizational and time management skills, including managing multiple opportunities and meeting deadlines.
- Comfort working with technical teams to understand solar solutions and translate them into commercially compelling offerings.
- Proficiency with CRM and standard office software (e.g., MS Office or equivalent); familiarity with sales reporting tools is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, sustainability, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Knowledge of the solar or broader renewable energy market is highly desirable.
- Ability to work on-site in Birkenhead/Manchester and travel to client locations and events as needed.
