MICE Concierge are a leading meeting and events agency, seeking a motivated Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to develop their skills in B2B business development and customer relationship management. The successful candidate will play a vital part in expanding our client base and strengthening our market presence through proactive outreach and relationship building. The role involves identifying and qualifying potential customers, managing sales activities through CRM systems, conducting discovery calls, presenting tailored solutions, negotiating agreements, and maintaining strong customer relationships to drive both new business and account expansion.
Responsibilities
Sales Planning and Preparation
- Plan sales activities and customer meetings initially for Business Development Director and Managing Director and then themselves.

Prospecting and Lead Generation
- Research target sectors, organizations and decision-makers in line with the company’s ideal customer profile and growth priorities.
- Generate new-business opportunities through cold calling, LinkedIn outreach, Sales Intelligence software, tracked email campaigns, networking, referrals, and other appropriate channels.
- Attend relevant industry events and trade shows to build relationships, identify prospects, and expand the company’s network.
- Respond promptly and professionally to inbound enquiries, assessing fit and agreeing clear next steps.
Qualification Calls and Relationship Development
- Qualify prospects using agreed criteria, including business need, budget, authority, timing, and strategic fit.
- Use a consultative approach to understand each prospect’s objectives, challenges, purchasing process, and success measures.
- Build credible relationships with decision-makers and influencers, nurture longer-term opportunities, and maintain appropriate follow-up cadences.
- Secure well-qualified discovery calls, appointments, and meetings for the relevant sales lead or progress suitable opportunities directly, as agreed.
Pipeline and CRM Management

- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline in HubSpot, ensuring contact details, activity, opportunity stage, value, next action, and expected timing are accurate and current.
- Manage prospects through the early sales cycle, from initial contact and qualification through to a structured handover to the appropriate director or account owner.
- Prioritise activity against pipeline coverage, conversion data, and revenue potential; flag risks, stalled opportunities, and support needs early.
- Produce reliable activity, pipeline, and conversion updates for regular sales reviews and forecasting.
Proposals and Internal Collaboration
- Work with design, production, and other internal teams to shape commercially sound proposals, presentations, and pitch materials.
- Tailor the value proposition and pitch to the prospect’s objectives, budget, decision criteria, and sector context.
- Provide clear handover notes and relevant background so colleagues can progress qualified opportunities efficiently.
- Share client feedback and collaborate with colleagues to improve propositions, targeting, campaign performance, and the overall sales process.
