Business Development Manager

An established and highly regarded professional services firm is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to support the growth of its practice groups across key markets and sectors. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders, help shape business development strategy and drive client growth initiatives within a collaborative environment.

About the Role

This role will lead a broad range of strategic and operational business development activities, partnering with partners and senior leadership to strengthen client relationships, enhance market profile, and generate new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement business development plans aligned to firm and practice group objectives.
  • Work closely with partners to identify growth opportunities and support revenue generation initiatives.
  • Manage and coordinate pitches, proposals, and capability statements.
  • Support key client programmes, including client listening and account management initiatives.
  • Conduct market, competitor, and client research to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Lead the planning and execution of client events, seminars, and thought leadership campaigns.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams on profile-raising activities, content creation, and digital campaigns.
  • Monitor and report on business development activity, pipeline opportunities, and return on investment.

Key Requirements

  • Previous business development experience gained within a law firm or wider professional services environment.
  • Strong experience supporting senior stakeholders and building effective working relationships.
  • Proven track record of delivering pitches, proposals, and client development initiatives.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
