What will I be doing?
As a Business Development Manager, you will be the driving force behind our early-stage pipeline. Your mission is to spark meaningful conversations with prospects, consultancies, and tech partners, manage marketplace sales, and drive high-impact demand generation activities.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Large-Scale Outreach & Meeting Generation: Own, manage, and execute high-volume outreach campaigns to systematically generate qualified meetings. You will skillfully leverage event applications, social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn), and content-led messaging to hook target prospects.
- Executive-Level Advocacy: Confidently manage and execute targeted outreach on behalf of senior leadership members, acting as their proxy to open doors and secure meetings within high-value target markets.
- Pipeline Qualification: Identify, qualify, and nurture inbound and outbound leads, ensuring a seamless handoff to the wider Commercial team.
- Early-Stage Engagement & Demos: Initiate and lead early-stage conversations with prospects and partners. Confidently deliver compelling product demos that showcase our value proposition.
- Marketplace & Tech Partner Lead Gen: Drive proactive lead generation and demand-gen activities through AWS and Google Cloud marketplaces.
- Commercial Ownership of Growth Activities: Take full commercial ownership of Growth-led initiatives, including advising on event plans, driving event attendance among clients, prospects, and partners, and maximizing the ROI of marketing campaigns.

About You
Ideally you'll have/be:
- Multi-Channel Outreach Expertise: A proven track record of managing and undertaking large-scale outbound communications across digital channels, including social media, content distribution, and event-specific networking apps.
- Industry Expertise: Proven experience working within the energy or utility sector, giving you immediate context and credibility with prospects.
- Cloud Ecosystem Awareness: A solid working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, and/or Microsoft Azure) and how cloud marketplaces operate.
- Commercial Spark & Drive: Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a track record of opening doors and initiating early-stage B2B conversations.
- Operating Autonomy: Comfortable advancing prospects and projects with moderate independence, but values collaboration and strategic alignment.
- Growth Mindset: A collaborative, results-driven approach with experience supporting or executing demand-generation activities (events, content campaigns, etc.).
What will set you apart:
- Executive Ghostwriting: Experience managing outreach effectively on behalf of C-suite or senior executives, matching their tone to secure high-level enterprise meetings.
- Marketplace Navigation: Direct experience managing or generating leads specifically through AWS Marketplace or Google Cloud Partner Advantage.
- Demo Mastery: A knack for translating relatively technical SaaS or energy tech concepts into engaging, value-driven software demonstrations.
- Fast-Paced Agility: Comfort navigating the ambiguity of an evolving market and a fast-growing business.
