Business Development Manager – Public Sector
Location: Remote (UK) with quarterly, expensed travel around the UK
Salary: £50,000–£55,000 basic + Uncapped Commission

Our client is an established and highly respected digital learning organisation with over 25 years of experience delivering innovative digital learning solutions to organisations across the public, healthcare, education and commercial sectors.
With hundreds of customers worldwide and multiple industry awards recognising excellence in digital learning and learning technology, the organisation has built a strong reputation for delivering bespoke learning experiences, learning platforms and strategic consultancy that help organisations develop skills, improve compliance and engage learners at scale.
Following significant international success, they are now investing in the growth of their UK Public Sector business. They're looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager to lead this exciting expansion.

You'll play a pivotal role in re-establishing the organisation's presence across the UK public sector, building on an existing foundation of previous client relationships, established procurement routes and recognised framework agreements. You'll have the autonomy to shape your territory while working alongside a highly experienced leadership team committed to long-term growth.
What You'll Be Selling
You'll be introducing public sector organisations to an award-winning digital learning platform designed to educate and engage learners, alongside a comprehensive suite of bespoke digital learning services.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities across UK public sector organisations.
- Build and manage a robust pipeline of high-value opportunities.
- Position the organisation as a strategic, long-term learning partner.
- Develop relationships with senior stakeholders across government, healthcare and wider public sector bodies.
- Attend industry events, conferences and networking opportunities to generate new business.
- Leverage digital marketing activity, social selling and your professional network to create opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to develop tailored proposals and solutions.
- Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle from prospecting to contract award.

About You
We're looking for someone who combines strategic thinking with a proactive approach to business development. You'll likely have:
- Proven experience selling into the UK Public Sector.
- Experience managing complex B2B sales cycles.
- A strong track record of generating your own pipeline and winning new business.
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
- The confidence to engage senior decision-makers.
- A consultative sales approach focused on delivering long-term value.
Experience selling SaaS, technology, digital services, learning solutions or consultancy into the public sector would be highly advantageous.
