Business Development Manager – EdTech & SaaS
Location: UK-wide
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 2 days per week in the Warwick office
Sector: EdTech / SaaS / Accessibility Technology
The Opportunity
Are you a commercially driven Business Development Manager who loves opening doors, building relationships and winning new business?
We're working with a highly purpose-driven technology business that is making a genuine difference to the way people communicate, access information and engage with organisations.
The business has an established presence across the UK education market and is now looking for a Business Development Manager to take ownership of new business growth across the education sector, while also helping to develop exciting opportunities within new and adjacent markets.
This is a hunter role. You'll be responsible for identifying opportunities, building your own pipeline, engaging senior stakeholders and taking opportunities through the full sales cycle from initial prospecting through to signed agreement.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll be responsible for developing new revenue across several key areas, including:
- Identifying and winning new business with Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs), school groups, local authorities and other multi-site education organisations.
- Building and managing your own qualified pipeline through proactive outbound activity, networking, events, referrals and targeted campaigns.
- Developing relationships with senior decision-makers, budget holders and other key stakeholders.
- Running discovery meetings and understanding the challenges and requirements of prospective customers.
- Delivering demonstrations, presentations and commercial proposals.
- Managing negotiations and taking opportunities through to contract.
- Developing new opportunities within corporate and adjacent markets.
- Identifying organisations looking to improve accessibility, inclusion and communication.
- Developing opportunities around communication boards, accessible signage, wayfinding and other project-based solutions.
- Working closely with Marketing to develop targeted campaigns and demand-generation activity.
- Collaborating with internal education and subject-matter experts to build compelling customer propositions.
- Working closely with the Key Account Manager to ensure a smooth handover once a deal has been won.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This Is Not a Traditional Sales Role
We're looking for someone who is commercially hungry and enjoys winning business, but isn't driven by a purely transactional sales mentality.
The customers you'll be working with often have complex requirements, multiple stakeholders and longer buying cycles.
You'll need to be comfortable taking the time to understand the customer, build trust, navigate different decision-makers and demonstrate how the solution can create meaningful outcomes. The typical sales cycle is expected to be around 9–12 months, so patience, persistence and strong relationship-building skills are essential.
What We're Looking For
We're particularly interested in speaking with Business Development Managers, Account Executives or New Business professionals who have experience within:
- EdTech
- Education software
- SaaS
- Education services
- Accessibility technology
- SEND-related technology
- Public sector technology
- Other complex B2B technology environments
Ideally, you'll have:
- Proven experience winning net-new B2B business.
- Strong knowledge of the UK education market.
- Experience selling to schools, Multi-Academy Trusts, local authorities or other large/multi-site organisations.
- A track record of self-generating pipeline rather than relying solely on inbound leads.
- Experience managing a full sales cycle from prospecting through to close.
- The ability to navigate multiple stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Strong consultative selling skills.
- Experience working towards revenue targets and managing a structured pipeline.
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
- A genuine appetite for networking, attending events and getting in front of customers.

What's In It For You?
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing, purpose-led technology business at an exciting stage of its commercial journey. You'll have the opportunity to:
- Take ownership of a significant new-business remit.
- Develop relationships with senior stakeholders across the UK education market.
- Help shape and grow new commercial propositions.
- Open up new markets beyond the company's established customer base.
- Work closely with senior commercial leadership.
- Make a genuine social impact through the work you do.
- Join a business that puts purpose, people and positive impact at the heart of its culture.
Interested? If you're an experienced Business Development Manager, New Business Manager or Account Executive with a strong understanding of the UK education market and a genuine appetite for winning new business, we'd love to hear from you.
This is a particularly exciting opportunity for someone who wants to combine commercial success with real purpose.
