An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a leading UK manufacturer supplying high-quality tipping trailers, truck tipper bodies and associated equipment to the haulage and waste sectors.

£35,000-£40,000 basic salary. OTE £65,000+ (uncapped commission) plus car allowance.

Weightlifter Bodies Ltd is an established and highly regarded name within the commercial body building market, with a strong reputation for quality, innovation and durability. As part of our continued growth, we are looking to appoint a commercially driven BDM to develop business across a defined UK territory.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proven field sales professional with experience in the commercial vehicle, trailer, truck body or related capital equipment sector who enjoys developing long-term customer relationships and winning new business.

The Role

Working both directly with end-users and through an established truck dealer network, you will take ownership of sales activity across your territory. You’ll be responsible for developing existing accounts, identifying new opportunities and managing customers throughout the complete sales process.

This is a consultative sales role where understanding the customer's operation and recommending the right solution will be key to your success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow sales of tipping trailers and truck tipper bodies across your territory.
  • Achieve and exceed agreed sales volume, margin and commercial targets.
  • Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with haulage operators, waste businesses, dealers and other commercial vehicle customers.
  • Manage and develop relationships with truck dealer partners, helping them identify and convert sales opportunities.
  • Provide product knowledge, commercial support and sales guidance to dealer partners.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle, from initial enquiry and specification through quotation, order and delivery.
  • Develop and execute a structured territory plan focused on profitable, sustainable growth.
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and customer information using CRM systems.
  • Work closely with internal manufacturing, commercial and customer service teams to ensure a smooth customer experience.
  • Represent the business at trade shows, exhibitions, customer events and other industry activities.
  • Maintain relationships after delivery to encourage repeat business, referrals and long-term customer loyalty.

About You

We are looking for a confident, credible and commercially focused sales professional who is comfortable developing business both directly and through dealer networks.

You will ideally have:

  • A proven track record in B2B field sales.
  • Experience within trailers, truck bodies, commercial vehicles, capital equipment or a closely related sector.
  • Experience selling through dealers, distributors or intermediary networks.
  • Strong new-business development and account-management skills.
  • A consultative approach with the ability to understand customer requirements and develop tailored solutions.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Good CRM and Microsoft Office skills.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to manage a large geographical territory effectively.
  • The flexibility to travel regularly and attend customer and industry events.

Knowledge of the UK trailer and truck body market would be a significant advantage.
