Job Title: Business Development Manager – Industrial Components
Location: UK (Field Based)
Travel Requirements: Up to 25% travel (including occasional global travel)
About Our Client
Our client is a global, multi-billion-dollar diversified manufacturing leader with operations spanning dozens of countries and tens of thousands of employees worldwide. The position sits within a specialised Industrial Components business unit that designs and manufactures advanced mechanical, electromechanical, and electrical assemblies. They serve key global sectors including aerospace and defense, transportation, packaging, off-road vehicles, marine, and industrial manufacturing.
Role Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive market expansion strategies across key distribution partners and direct OEM accounts. Reporting directly to the Business Unit Manager, you will lead sales initiatives to expand market share, protect existing business, and manage an inside sales support team to deliver on financial, product, and margin goals.

Key Responsibilities
- Drive Commercial Growth: Develop and implement tactical sales strategies to expand revenue across targeted industrial sectors and strategic accounts.
- Account Strategy & Defense: Build long-term relationships with key client decision-makers while developing defense strategies for core business lines.
- Market Opportunity Analysis: Identify and pursue new growth avenues through structured market research, competitive analysis, and strategic pricing.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate technical and commercial meetings between internal engineering/division teams and major clients.
- Team Leadership: Direct and mentor an inside support team to deliver on both short- and long-term strategic sales goals.
- Executive Presentations: Prepare sales outlooks, market intelligence reports, and product simplification analyses for senior management.
- Regulatory & IP Compliance: Ensure operational adherence to industry regulations, export compliance policies, and intellectual property protections.

Candidate Profile & Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field is preferred.
Experience:
- 5+ years of progressive experience in technical sales, business development, or technical marketing, including high-level program management.
Technical Knowledge:
- Strong familiarity with electromechanical assemblies, mechanical components, and electronic technologies.
Analytical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data manipulation to evaluate market dynamics and commercial financial results.
Leadership & Culture:
- High integrity, collaborative risk management mindset, transparent communication style, and a track record of driving results through cross-functional teamwork.
