Description

Drive growth across the UK financial advice market by helping adviser firms unlock more value from Defaqto's market-leading solutions.

Role Overview

As a Business Development Manager, you'll be responsible for developing relationships with financial advice firms, generating new business opportunities, and growing existing accounts across Defaqto's product portfolio. You'll identify challenges, demonstrate value-led solutions, and drive commercial growth through consultative selling.

This role combines outbound business development, account growth, and cross-selling within an established and highly respected fintech brand.

Who we're looking for

You'll have a couple of years' solid business development experience - ideally within the SaaS / fintech / financial services world.

What you'll do

  • Proactively generate new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, networking, referrals, and market engagement.
  • Build and manage relationships with financial advisers, practice principals, business owners, and other key stakeholders.
  • Conduct discovery meetings and tailored product demonstrations that articulate business value and ROI.
  • Develop and execute account growth plans across an existing portfolio of adviser firms.
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Manage opportunities throughout the full sales cycle, from prospecting through to negotiation and close.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product, customer success, and sales operations teams to maximise client outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM records.
  • Keep up to date with market trends, regulatory developments, and the challenges facing adviser businesses.
  • Consistently achieve and exceed individual sales targets and revenue objectives.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
