Business Development Manager Salary: circa £35,000 + Bonus/Commission Monday to Friday | Full-Time Huddersfield with Travel

Are you an experienced Business Development Manager with a background in print, direct mail or a related marketing services environment?

We’re working with an established and growing business looking to appoint a commercially driven BDM to help develop new business, build strong client relationships and grow revenue across its print and direct mail offering.

The Role

This is a genuine new-business-focused position, where you’ll be responsible for identifying and winning new clients, developing relationships and growing existing opportunities.

You’ll work closely with customers to understand their requirements and provide commercially effective print and direct mail solutions.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across target markets.
  • Generate leads through proactive prospecting, networking, referrals and outbound activity.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Manage the full sales process from initial contact through to negotiation and close.
  • Understand customer requirements and work with internal teams to develop suitable solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations and quotations.
  • Develop a strong pipeline and consistently work towards revenue targets.
  • Identify opportunities to increase account value through additional products and services.
  • Keep up to date with market trends, customer needs and competitor activity.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular sales pipeline updates.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Previous B2B Business Development or Sales experience.
  • Experience within print, direct mail, mailing, marketing services or a similar industry.
  • A proven track record of generating and converting new business.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • A consultative approach to selling rather than simply selling on price.
  • The confidence to engage with decision-makers at all levels.
  • Excellent organisation and pipeline management skills.
  • A target-driven and self-motivated approach.
