Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager is responsible for the sales growth and budget in the Midlands by developing existing and new customer accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creates sales objectives to achieve the sales growth and budget targets for the sector.
  • Strong sales acumen and sales experience.
  • Ideally, will have experience within the relevant sector or specification sales experience.
  • Technical field sales experience is required.
  • Good level of PC skills.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel and stay away from home.

  • Makes phone calls and arranges sales appointments.
  • Attends customer and prospect meetings.
  • Organizes and conducts demos.
  • Understands customers’ needs.
  • By working with customers and colleagues as appropriate, creates specifications for products, produces quotations and negotiates with the customer to close deals.
  • The point of contact for technical queries and ensures that the issues are managed to the customer’s satisfaction.
  • Responsible for commissioning, once the product has been installed as per the specification.
  • Provides basic on-site training for customers’ operators and answers technical queries/resolves technical problems.
  • Attends networking events, exhibitions, and seminars.
