Business Development Manager Opportunity
Are you a consumer finance professional looking to make a real contribution to an exciting growth story as a BDM? Maybe you work in Retail Finance, Motor Finance, or in a broader Consumer Finance setting today? If so, we'd love to hear from you.
"Turn promising prospects into lasting partnerships"
Are you an experienced Business Development (BD) Manager, BD Executive, or a sales-oriented Account Manager who enjoys opening doors, building commercially valuable relationships and taking ownership from the first conversation through to successful onboarding?
At Castle Trust Bank, we pride ourselves on being a fintech challenger bank, providing specialist property mortgages, retail finance lending and savings accounts to a variety of customers.
We're looking for a proactive and commercially astute Business Development Manager to join our Omni Commercial Sales team. You'll take ownership of prospecting and developing new partnerships with small and medium-sized retailers, becoming a trusted expert within your allocated market sectors and their competitive landscape. This is a real opportunity to join a business with strong fundamentals in place, where you can truly drive results in a way that will enable you to grow and evolve with the business.
This role is based from home with travel into our London office once a week (typically Tuesdays) and infrequent travel to our Basingstoke office (usually once per month).
The Role and What You'll Lead and Deliver
You'll manage the complete business development cycle, combining targeted prospecting with consultative relationship building and strong commercial negotiation.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and delivering a clear prospecting strategy for your allocated market sector or sectors.
- Creating and executing outbound sales campaigns to identify new retailer partnerships.
- Building and continually developing Omni Capital Retail Finance's prospect database.
- Managing prospects from initial enquiry and first engagement through to onboarding and a successful handover to the Account Management team.
- Delivering against financial performance measures, including new retailer partners and loan originations.
- Understanding the commercial drivers behind prospective partnerships and developing compelling propositions.
- Researching competitors and clearly demonstrating the benefits of partnering with Omni Capital Retail Finance.
- Creating and delivering credible presentations to stakeholders ranging from business managers and directors through to C-suite decision-makers.
- Preparing and presenting management information and KPI reports internally.
- Responding to incoming sales enquiries by email, telephone and personal visits, in line with agreed service levels.
- Supporting the management and triage of enquiries received through the Sales Inbox.
- Travelling within the UK when required to meet prospective partners and develop new business opportunities (typically infrequent).

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
