Business Development Manager

Pulse Group are partnered with an innovative, high-growth SaaS business that is transforming the way global consumer brands deliver product sampling campaigns.

Trusted by some of the world's largest FMCG organisations, our client has built a market-leading digital platform that enables brands to run smarter, more targeted and measurable sampling campaigns at scale. Following significant growth over the past five years, they're now looking to hire a Business Development Manager to help accelerate the next stage of their expansion.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced new business salesperson who understands the FMCG marketing landscape and enjoys opening doors, building relationships and winning complex enterprise deals.

The Opportunity

This is a genuine hunter role. You'll be responsible for identifying and winning new business with global FMCG brands, engaging senior marketing stakeholders and helping organisations modernise their approach to product sampling.

The business already has an excellent reputation and impressive client base. Your focus will be generating new opportunities, managing complex sales cycles and building long-term commercial relationships.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Prospect and generate new business opportunities through outbound outreach, networking, referrals and industry events.
  • Engage with Brand Managers, CRM teams and Marketing leaders within major FMCG organisations.
  • Manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles from initial outreach through to contract signature.
  • Build compelling commercial cases that clearly demonstrate ROI and business impact.
  • Qualify opportunities using a structured sales methodology (MEDDIC experience is advantageous, although training will be provided).
  • Build multiple relationships across each customer account to create long-term partnerships.
  • Work closely with the delivery team to ensure a seamless handover before identifying future expansion opportunities.

What We're Looking For:

We're less concerned about how many years you've spent in sales and more interested in your understanding of how marketing teams within large FMCG businesses operate.

You'll likely have experience in one of the following:

  • Selling into FMCG or CPG marketing teams.
  • Working within FMCG marketing, brand, CRM or trade marketing functions.
  • Winning new business through self-generated opportunities.
  • Managing enterprise sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders over several months.
  • Using structured sales methodologies such as MEDDIC, SPIN or Challenger Sales.

Existing relationships within the FMCG industry would be highly advantageous, although a clear strategy for developing new networks is equally valuable.
