About the Role
Pal International is looking for an ambitious and commercially focused Business Development Manager to drive new business growth across the UK & Ireland. The primary focus will be identifying and converting new opportunities within Food & Beverage manufacturing, while also developing opportunities within Life Sciences, pharmaceutical, medical device and other regulated manufacturing environments.
This is a genuine new-business role, requiring someone who enjoys prospecting, opening doors, understanding customer challenges and converting opportunities into sustainable revenue.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, target and win new business across UK & Ireland Food & Beverage manufacturing sector working with our partners.
- Develop additional opportunities within Life Sciences and regulated manufacturing environments.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of qualified new-business opportunities.
- Engage key decision-makers including Technical, Hygiene, Quality, Operations and Procurement teams.
- Conduct site visits to understand existing hygiene and contamination-control processes and identify opportunities for Pal to support.
- Develop and manage structured product trials, from initial scoping through to successful conversion following a structured sales process.
- Present solutions based on performance, compliance, productivity and total cost-in-use.
- Prepare commercial proposals and negotiate new customer agreements.
- Use & maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline reporting and revenue forecasts.
- Monitor competitor activity and provide market intelligence to support Pal's wider commercial strategy.
- Work closely with Pal's Technical, Marketing and Customer Service teams to support customer acquisition and successful implementation.

Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone with:
- Proven B2B new-business development experience within manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of the Food & Beverage manufacturing sector.
- Previous experience within Life Sciences, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device or similar regulated environments would be an advantage.
- Experience selling technical, hygiene, cleaning, consumable or process-related solutions.
- A strong hunter mentality and demonstrable track record of winning new customers.
- Confidence engaging stakeholders from site level through to senior management and procurement.
- Strong commercial, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Ability to independently manage a UK & Ireland territory and sales pipeline.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel regularly.
- Experience within professional hygiene, contamination control, wiping or cleaning/disinfection products would be highly advantageous.

What Success Looks Like
Success will be measured through new customers acquired, new-business revenue and margin, pipeline development, successful product trials and growth of Pal International's presence within targeted Food & Beverage and technical manufacturing sectors.
The Person
You will be commercially ambitious, proactive and comfortable developing opportunities from a cold start. You will have at least 3 years’ experience within a similar role and be ready to take that next step into an exciting new challenge. You will combine the drive of a new-business hunter with the consultative and technical approach required to understand manufacturing environments, challenge existing processes and demonstrate the value Pal International can bring to the customer.
