Vivid Technologies is looking for an ambitious, motivated and personable Business Development Manager to join our growing team.

This is a full-time, field-based role for someone who enjoys being out on the road, meeting potential customers, building relationships and creating new business opportunities.

The Role

As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and developing new sales opportunities for Vivid Technologies. You will spend a significant amount of your time out on the road meeting prospective customers, generating leads and introducing them to our products and services.

You will have the freedom to develop your own territory, build a strong pipeline of opportunities and turn initial conversations into long-term customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and generate new business leads through proactive prospecting and face-to-face visits.
  • Spend regular time on the road visiting prospective and existing customers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers and key contacts.
  • Research potential customers and identify new commercial opportunities.
  • Arrange and attend meetings, site visits and sales presentations.
  • Develop opportunities from initial contact through to negotiation and close.
  • Maintain an accurate pipeline of prospects and follow up leads consistently.
  • Work closely with the wider Vivid Technologies team to deliver solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Meet agreed business development and sales targets.
  • Represent Vivid Technologies professionally at all times.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Confident, outgoing and comfortable approaching new businesses.
  • A natural communicator who enjoys meeting people face-to-face.
  • Driven, self-motivated and hungry to generate new business.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing their own diary.
  • Persuasive and confident in commercial conversations and negotiations.
  • Organised, proactive and able to manage a sales pipeline effectively.
  • Comfortable spending a large proportion of their working week on the road.
  • Experienced in business development, sales or a customer-facing commercial role. Previous experience in a B2B sales or business development role would be advantageous, but we're also interested in candidates with the right attitude, personality and drive.

The successful candidate will be expected to travel regularly to meet prospective customers and develop new business across the relevant territory.
