Business Development Manager

Doncaster

£35,000 - £40,000 + Bonus

Are you an experienced Sales person with a background in the vehicle industry? Do you thrive on winning new business, building long-term relationships and working in a consultative sales environment?

We're recruiting on behalf of an innovative and growing business based in Doncaster for a Business Development Manager to join their ambitious sales team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in driving business growth while working with a company that invests in its people and is committed to becoming bigger and better.

Package

  • Salary of £35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience.
  • Bonus opportunity of £5,000 - £10,000.
  • Use of a company pool van.
  • Early 1:30pm finish on a Friday.

Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager

  • Identifying and securing new business opportunities across the commercial vehicle sector.
  • Managing and developing customer relationships to maximise long-term business.
  • Conducting proactive outbound business development activity.
  • Attending customer meetings, site visits, trade shows and industry events.
  • Selling consultatively, understanding customer requirements and recommending the most suitable vehicle solutions.
  • Working with businesses operating within construction, road surfacing, engineering, utilities, telecommunications and other commercial sectors.
  • Building relationships with fleet customers purchasing multiple vehicles.
  • Liaising with vehicle dealers, OEMs, finance companies and internal departments to manage the sales process from enquiry through to delivery.
  • Working closely with the technical and design teams to provide tailored customer solutions.
  • Some travel nationally to meet customers, with occasional overnight stays.

Requirements of the Business Development Manager

  • Previous experience in a Business Development or Sales role within the vehicle industry.
  • Strong knowledge of the fleet, van or commercial vehicle market.
  • Alternatively, a minimum of four years' experience within a vehicle dealership environment with a proven ability to generate new business.
  • A track record of winning new business and building lasting customer relationships.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • A confident, resilient and self-motivated approach.
  • The ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a team.
  • Commercial awareness with a consultative sales style.
  • Full UK driving licence.
