Business Development Manager
Diverse Commercial Solutions Ltd is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to drive new business growth across our commercial cleaning and technical facilities management services.
This is a senior, hands-on role for someone with strong facilities management industry knowledge, an established network, and a proven track record of securing profitable commercial contracts.
You will take ownership of the full sales cycle, from identifying opportunities and developing relationships through to tender submission, negotiation, contract award, and handover to the operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and secure new commercial cleaning, technical maintenance, and facilities management contracts.
- Develop and manage a strong pipeline of qualified business opportunities.
- Generate leads through industry contacts, networking, referrals, tender portals, and direct approaches.
- Build relationships with key decision-makers, procurement teams, managing agents, and property professionals.
- Lead the preparation of tenders, proposals, quotations, and presentations.
- Attend client meetings, site visits, and industry events.
- Work with operational and finance teams to develop commercially viable service solutions.
- Ensure pricing is competitive and aligned with company margin expectations.
- Negotiate contract terms and support opportunities through to contract award.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reports to the Board.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and new business opportunities.
- Ensure a clear and structured handover of new contracts to the operational teams.
- Support mobilisation and maintain contact with new clients during the early stages of service delivery.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Significant business development experience within the facilities management industry.
- Strong knowledge of commercial cleaning, technical maintenance, or integrated facilities management.
- A proven track record of securing profitable commercial contracts.
- Experience managing the full sales and tender process.
- Strong commercial awareness, including pricing, margins, mobilisation costs, and contract profitability.
- Experience producing high-quality tender submissions and proposals.
- Confidence presenting to and negotiating with senior decision-makers.
- An established network of relevant industry contacts.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and influencing skills.
- The ability to work independently and take full ownership of the business development function.
- A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel for client meetings and site visits.
