Role Description
The Business Development Manager is a part-time, remote role responsible for expanding The Cheshire Club’s network of partners, sponsors, and members. Day-to-day tasks include identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, conducting outreach via calls, emails, and virtual meetings, and building long-term relationships with local businesses and organizations. The role involves developing tailored proposals, negotiating partnership and sponsorship agreements, and coordinating with internal teams to align offerings across events, media, and networking initiatives. The Business Development Manager will also track pipeline activity, maintain accurate CRM records, and provide regular reports on performance, market trends, and growth opportunities. Collaboration with marketing and editorial teams to refine messaging and support promotional campaigns is a key part of the position.

Qualifications

- Experience in business development, sales, or partnership management, preferably within events, media, or professional networking environments.
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with business owners and senior leaders.
- Proficiency in remote work tools, CRM or contact management systems, and basic digital communication platforms (e.g., email, video conferencing).
- Solid organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage a part-time schedule, prioritize opportunities, and meet agreed targets.
- Comfortable conducting outreach, presenting proposals, and negotiating agreements in a professional and inclusive manner.
- Understanding of local or regional business communities (Cheshire or similar areas) and an interest in supporting entrepreneurial growth.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams; self-motivated and results-oriented.
- Relevant education or equivalent practical experience in business, marketing, communications, or a related field is beneficial.
