The role

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to identify, develop and secure profitable new business across Pyrotec’s fire-protection services.

This is a predominantly new-business role. You will create and manage your own pipeline, taking opportunities from initial prospecting through proposal, negotiation and order placement to a structured handover to Operations.

The role is based in Ringmer, East Sussex, with regular travel across the South East.

Salary: Up to £50,000 plus commission, depending on experience

Package: Company vehicle and pension

Contract: Full-time and permanent

Key responsibilities

  • Identify and target organisations that align with Pyrotec’s capabilities and growth priorities.
  • Build a consistent pipeline through outbound calling, targeted campaigns, networking, referrals and industry events.
  • Arrange meetings, site visits and presentations with facilities and property managers, procurement teams, health and safety professionals and other decision-makers.
  • Identify multi-service and longer-term contract opportunities across Pyrotec’s fire-protection portfolio.
  • Maintain accurate opportunity records and realistic forecasts in Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Coordinate surveys, technical input and pricing with relevant internal colleagues.
  • Prepare and present professional proposals and commercially viable solutions.
  • Negotiate effectively while protecting margin as well as revenue.
  • Support suitable tender and framework submissions.
  • Complete a structured operational handover once new business has been secured.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
