Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Business Development Manager, based in the UK and managing new business and a portfolio of small and medium sized clients, predominately based in the UK.

The role involves identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with prospective and existing clients, and promoting MGI Learning’s training solutions to key decision-makers.

The Business Development Manager will undertake lead generation, conduct consultative sales conversations, prepare and deliver tailored proposals and presentations, and manage the end-to-end sales cycle from lead generation to closing.

They will collaborate with colleagues to align solutions with client needs, maintain accurate records in CRM systems, and track performance against revenue and growth targets.

The role also includes market research, participation in virtual events or webinars, and ongoing refinement of sales strategies to expand MGI Learning’s global footprint.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in business development, B2B sales, or account management within learning, training, consulting, or related professional services.
  • Strong skills in relationship building, stakeholder management, and consultative selling, with the ability to understand client challenges and propose appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to conduct market research, analyse opportunities, and develop strategic plans for pipeline growth and territory expansion.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, including experience delivering compelling virtual and in-person pitches.
  • Comfort working independently in a remote environment, with strong time management, organization, and self-motivation.
  • Experience using CRM tools and sales productivity software to manage leads, opportunities, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with customer experience, employee engagement, organizational change, or learning and development concepts is highly beneficial.
  • Experience of the impact of MGI Learning programmes, as a participant or customer.
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding revenue, growth, or performance targets in prior roles.
