Are you a 360 Recruitment Consultant who loves winning business and managing clients, but would happily focus entirely on the client side?

Or perhaps you're an experienced B2B salesperson looking for a new challenge, where you can continue doing what you do best in sales, but in a sector where your work has a greater sense of purpose?

We're looking for a Business Development Manager to join a well-established, Ofsted Good apprenticeship training provider with over 45 years of experience delivering training.

You'll be selling government-funded apprenticeship training to employers, helping businesses develop their workforce, address skills shortages and create opportunities for their employees to progress.

This is a new business sales role. You'll be opening doors with employers, building relationships with decision-makers and turning commercial opportunities into apprenticeship starts.

Who Are We Looking For?

We're keen to speak to:

  • Experienced Apprenticeship BDMs
  • 360 Recruitment Consultants
  • B2B Sales Professionals

For candidates coming from recruitment or other B2B sales backgrounds, you'll need at least two years' experience winning new business and selling services directly to BUSINESSES or employers, rather than selling to individual consumers.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

We're especially interested in those who have successfully won business within the legal, finance or accountancy sectors, although this isn't essential.

You don't need previous apprenticeship sales experience. Full training on apprenticeship programmes and funding will be provided, allowing you to bring your existing sales skills into a new sector.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Prospecting and winning new employer clients.
  • Building relationships with business owners, HR teams and senior decision-makers.
  • Understanding employers' workforce needs and recommending suitable apprenticeship programmes.
  • Managing opportunities from initial conversation through to sign-up.
  • Developing employer relationships to generate further business.

Why Make the Move Into Apprenticeships?

For recruiters who particularly enjoy the business development and client relationship side of their role, this is an opportunity to specialise in exactly that.

You'll still be prospecting, winning clients, working towards targets and earning commission, but without responsibility for candidate sourcing, CV screening or recruitment delivery. That's handled by a separate team.

And there's a lot more to apprenticeships than people often realise.

For employers, apprenticeships offer a government-funded way to close skills gaps, develop existing employees, attract new talent and build a more skilled, capable workforce without relying solely on external recruitment.

For apprentices, they offer the opportunity to gain recognised qualifications, develop valuable skills and progress professionally while remaining in paid employment. And apprentices aren't just school leavers; many are experienced employees looking to develop or advance their careers.

So you're still enjoying the challenge and financial rewards of sales, but the business you win also contributes to closing skills gaps and creating opportunities for people to develop their careers.

What's on Offer?

  • £35,000 basic salary plus generous commission
  • Hybrid working with flexibility to work from home
  • Initial office-based training and support
  • An established, Ofsted Good training provider with decades of experience
  • A dedicated apprentice recruitment team, leaving you free to focus on sales
  • The opportunity to develop your career in the skills and training sector

The role is Manchester-based, so you'll need to live within a reasonable commuting distance.
