I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Glenigan helps customers find projects earlier, track activity in their market, and build stronger sales pipelines.
- Your role is to turn that value into new customer conversations, qualified opportunities, and closed business.
- This is not about waiting for demand to arrive. It is about creating pipeline, asking good questions, showing value clearly, and helping customers see how Glenigan can support growth.
About You
- Experience in B2B sales, business development, inside sales, telesales, or a similar commercial role.
- Enjoy new business and are confident opening conversations with people you have not spoken to before.
- Motivated by targets, commission, and seeing your performance improve.
- Build consistent weekly output, not occasional spikes.
- Comfortable speaking with decision-makers, asking questions, and uncovering commercial drivers.
- Deliver demos or customer conversations that focus on value, not features alone.
- Understand the importance of accurate CRM records and credible forecasting.
- Resilient, organized, and able to manage a busy pipeline.
- Can talk through your numbers, your wins, and where you want to improve.
- Experience in construction, building products, data, SaaS, market intelligence, or subscription sales would be helpful, but it is not essential if you are willing to learn the market.
