Job Description: Business Development Manager

Type: Full time, permanent

Location: Hybrid role in North West, future office based in Warrington area

Salary: Competitive starting basic of £45,000 + £20,000 OTE (£65,000 total expected earnings), plus an additional £10,000 for high performers reaching stretch targets (potential total earnings up to £75,000). Subject to experience.

We are expanding our sales team to support the organisation with our ambitious 2026-27 goals.

The Business Development Manager (BDM) role is pivotal to driving the growth and expansion of cloudnumbering through the growth of new business revenue and profits, while building strong internal and external relationships.

The BDM role is full-time and remote within the North West until the new office is available in 2027. The BDM will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, nurturing partnerships, and fostering collaborative relationships with key clients in the telecommunications sector across EMEA, APAC and LATAM.

You will strategically align with customers’ virtual number and business objectives, using data and insights to drive and improve their product adoption and growth. This involves providing clients with best practice guidance and recommendations to maximise learning through product onboarding, ensuring they are appropriately configured for growth and success. The BDM will also work closely with an internal cross-functional team, including Customer Success, Support and Technical, to continually refine and develop our internal processes and policies to enhance our customer’s journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifying Opportunities: Working with our marketing team to conduct market research to identify potential clients in telecommunications and related industries. Understanding their needs and pain points to tailor compelling value propositions.
  • Partnership Development: Initiating contact with potential businesses, fostering relationships, attending meetings and negotiating beneficial partnership agreements.
  • Collaboration: Collaborating with internal teams, including Customer Success, Marketing, Product Development and Technical, to align strategies and deliver exceptional client support and onboarding.
  • Performance Monitoring: Tracking and analysing your performance against KPIs and implementing strategies to maximise the potential and achieve revenue goals.
  • Market Insights: Staying up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to capitalise on market opportunities effectively.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven track record in business development, account management, or partner management within telecommunications or related industries. Experience working with Telco companies on a global scale is a significant advantage.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with OTT mobile services, Virtual Numbers, Business Messaging, eSIM, and Mobile applications in various sectors is desirable but not mandatory. A strong interest in telecommunications and emerging technologies is essential.
  • Networking Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, to build lasting relationships with potential clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Result-Oriented: A goal-driven mindset with a demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets and performance metrics.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to identifying challenges and providing innovative solutions to drive business growth.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel UK and internationally as required for business meetings and conferences.
  • Comprehension: Proficiency in English, G Suite and CRM software (e.g., Hubspot).
