Business Development Manager
Manchester | £35,000 base + £55,000 OTE + uncapped commission + £5,400 car allowance

I'm recruiting for a fast-growing international business that works with organisations across a range of sectors, helping them identify and access opportunities that can reduce costs and improve their financial position. Due to continued growth, they're looking to add an ambitious Business Development Manager to their Manchester sales team.

The Role

This is a genuine full-cycle sales role, with responsibility for taking opportunities from initial prospecting through to closing.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Identifying and prospecting new business opportunities
  • Cold calling and generating your own pipeline
  • Booking and running meetings with prospective clients
  • Managing the sales process from first conversation through to close
  • Building relationships with business owners and senior decision makers
  • Consistently achieving monthly and annual sales targets

Around 80% of meetings are self-generated, so this is a genuine hunter role for someone who enjoys picking up the phone and creating their own opportunities. The typical sales cycle is around 30–60 days, with an average deal value of approximately £11k. The role carries an annual target of around £280k, with high performers typically closing around 4 deals per month.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
