We are searching for a first class Business Development Manager to work in the South Birmingham, Worcestershire, Warwickshire area. Working with a high growth medical device business in a strategic sales role.

The Role

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving business growth and for the effective management of all current key accounts in their region.

Qualifications and Experience

The Business Development Manager will have:

  • Sales experience within medical devices and/or hold a degree in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or Sports Science
  • The ability to prepare and plan to cover a territory in an efficient and profitable way, you will also be highly numerate and have an optimistic outlook
  • Excellent analytical & negotiation skills, with previous experience in contract management
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills in order to deal with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets
  • Full UK driving licence essential

Key Responsibilities

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Develop opportunities for the expansion of products and services within their region
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline through prospecting and qualifying leads
  • Ensure accurate pipeline forecasting and reporting
  • Implementation of new contracts
  • The ability not only to work in a team and at the same time take individual responsibility for territory goals, but also to plan and manage a large territory in an efficient and functional way will be of high importance as will be the character to develop and sustain long term business relationships with key customers.
  • To be accountable and responsible for sales targets and business goals (KPI’s) in terms of products and finance on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis across the territory
  • To engage in campaign promotions and promote the company’s products and services in terms of FAB (features, advantages and benefits) in relation to the key and current topics within the market and industry
  • To continuously improve and develop professional selling skills and in particular, time management, territory and account coverage, appointment planning, public speaking and product demonstration abilities. DASA and XCEL are our themes.
  • To identify, understand and commit to the corporate strategy that focusses on frequent account contact, top current accounts, a select number of NHS hospitals, all loan stores and special schools within the territory
