Business Development Manager - Industrial Generators
£75K basic + Bonus + Car - Exclusive role
We’re looking for a commercially driven, relationship-focused Sales Professional to grow our synchronous generator business across industrial, marine, and energy markets.
In this role, you will manage and expand a portfolio of existing strategic accounts, deepen long-term customer relationships, and drive sustainable revenue growth from the installed base. You’ll identify expansion opportunities, develop commercial offers for medium- and high-voltage synchronous generators, and act as the primary point of contact for key customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic account plans for the UK region to drive sustainable business growth
- Grow revenue and order intake by expanding business within existing customer accounts
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with customers and key stakeholders
- Identify customer needs, installed-base opportunities, replacement cycles, service requirements, and expansion potential
- Serve as the main point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring continuity, responsiveness, and high customer satisfaction
- Prepare, coordinate, and follow up on commercial quotations, tenders, and offers
- Own and manage sales KPIs including account growth, pipeline health, conversion rates, revenue targets, and order intake
- Analyse account performance, market trends, and customer needs to uncover growth opportunities
- Support contract negotiations and lead commercial discussions with clarity and confidence
- Collaborate closely with engineering, project management, and manufacturing teams to align customer requirements with internal capabilities
- Contribute to forecasting, business planning, and regional growth strategy

Qualifications & Experience
- University degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred
- Proven experience in sales, key account management, or account management within industrial, marine, energy, or similar B2B sectors
- Strong track record of growing existing accounts and increasing revenue from current customers
- Experience managing strategic accounts, developing account plans, and converting customer needs into orders
- Advanced negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Strong business acumen and commercial mindset
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive results
- Strategic and analytical approach with a solid understanding of sales KPIs and metrics
- Experience with synchronous generators, rotating machines, power generation, or related technical products is an advantage
- Comfortable operating in an international environment and engaging stakeholders at all levels
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time
- Business-level English (spoken and written)
