Business Development Manager - B2B Media

📍 Location: London (Hybrid)
💰 Salary: £35,000–£40,000 - £72,000 OTE with a competitive commission structure

Are you an ambitious Business Development Manager looking for a role where you can take ownership of the full sales cycle, build meaningful client relationships and have genuine influence over your career progression?

We’re working with a fast-growing specialist B2B media business that work with global technology companies and provide high-value content, digital solutions and commercial partnerships.

The Role

As a Business Development Manager, you’ll take ownership of your own pipeline and sales activity, from initial prospecting through to closing and account development.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • 🎯 Consistently achieving and exceeding individual sales targets and KPIs
  • 🔎 Identifying new business opportunities through market research, prospecting and lead generation
  • 🤝 Managing the full 360° sales cycle, from prospecting through to close
  • 💬 Building strong, long-term relationships with clients and understanding their commercial objectives
  • 📈 Growing existing accounts through upselling and cross-selling
  • 💡 Developing tailored, consultative proposals across multiple products and services
  • 📣 Contributing to inbound lead generation through email campaigns, social media and website activity
  • 📊 Maintaining accurate CRM records, pipeline management and sales forecasting
  • 🧬 Keeping up to date with developments across the life sciences, biotech and biomedical sectors
  • 👥 Working closely with Customer Success, Editorial and Marketing teams to deliver successful client campaigns

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for a commercially driven salesperson who enjoys consultative selling and building relationships.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Proven experience in a B2B sales environment
  • A background in media, publishing, conference sponsorship
  • Experience selling service-led or consultative solutions
  • A strong track record of hitting and exceeding sales targets
  • Experience across both new business and account growth
  • The ability to quickly understand new industries, technologies and markets
  • Confidence developing complex, bespoke proposals based on client requirements
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
  • Strong organisation, time management and pipeline management abilities
  • A collaborative approach and genuine focus on delivering value for clients
