Salary:

About us
Applied Computer Vision is a bespoke software startup developing intelligent camera systems and software solutions for businesses across a range of industries. We help customers monitor processes, improve quality control and solve practical operational challenges.
Much of our growth has come through referrals and industry relationships. We’re now looking for a proactive, organised Business Development Executive to build on that foundation and bring consistency to our outreach and sales pipeline.
About the role
You’ll work directly with our Managing Director to identify potential customers, start conversations and turn initial interest into qualified sales opportunities.
You’ll take ownership of prospecting, follow-up and keeping opportunities moving. Our Managing Director will lead technical discussions, scope solutions and handle pricing and closing, with your support throughout the process.
Together, you’ll identify promising sectors and applications, then develop focused outreach campaigns around the problems we can solve.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys building relationships, takes initiative and is comfortable working in a small business.
What you’ll do
- Research prospective customers and identify relevant decision-makers.
- Work with our Managing Director to prioritise target sectors and commercial opportunities.
- Approach prospects through thoughtful email, telephone and LinkedIn outreach.
- Follow up on referrals, enquiries, industry contacts and previous conversations.
- Understand prospects’ initial needs and arrange relevant introductory calls.
- Maintain clear CRM records, ensuring every active opportunity has an agreed next step.
- Coordinate meetings and follow up on proposals and outstanding actions.
- Help turn completed projects into case studies, LinkedIn posts and sales materials.
- Share feedback from customer conversations to improve our messaging and approach.
- Attend relevant industry events and occasional customer meetings where appropriate.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience selling bespoke solutions, software, engineering services or technology would be useful, but isn’t essential. You don’t need a technical background in computer vision—we’ll help you understand our systems and where they can add value.
