Role Description

This is a self-employed role for a Business Development Manager in Merchant services. The person in this role will identify and pursue new business opportunities, build and maintain strong relationships with prospects and existing clients, and manage the sales pipeline from lead generation through contract closure.

Day-to-day Responsibilities

  • Conducting market research
  • Qualifying leads
  • Preparing proposals and presentations
  • Negotiating terms
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and high service levels

The Business Development Manager will track performance metrics, provide regular reports and forecasts, and recommend strategic initiatives to expand market presence and revenue. The role also involves representing the company in virtual meetings and industry forums, while continuously improving sales processes and customer engagement.

  • Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, or account management within consumer services or related sectors.
  • Strong skills in lead generation, prospecting, and relationship building, with the ability to manage a structured sales pipeline.
  • Proficiency in market research, opportunity assessment, and developing data-driven growth strategies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex offerings clearly.
  • Comfort with remote work, including effective time management, self-organization, and collaboration via digital tools.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, marketing, and customer service to deliver integrated client solutions.
  • Experience using CRM systems and standard productivity tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, or equivalents) to track activities and performance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proactive, results-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Prior experience in financial services, payments, or transactional services is an advantage but not required.
